The Binance CEO Changpeng Zhao “CZ” has warned that Google search network results are still promoting phishing and fraudulent Crypto Websites.
Google applies strict policies regarding crypto ads but seems scammers have been sneaking through Google ads vulnerabilities for the past few years.
And so fraudulent platforms' websites are shown higher than trusted crypto and blockchain platforms.
CZ tweet warned that when searching for CoinMarketCap on Google, phishing sites appear with an advertisement “Ad” – sign, in front of the trusted website.
Google displays phishing sites when users search CMC. This affects users adding smart contract addresses to MetaMask using these phishing sites. We are trying to contact Google for this, and in the meantime alerting users about this through social channels. pic.twitter.com/3q4860Jl4H

CZ tweets: “This affects users who add smart contract addresses to MetaMask using these phishing sites. We are trying to contact Google for this and at the same time alert users about this through social channels”.
CoinMarketCap is a popular source in the crypto market, it was acquired by Binance in April 2020. And due to its popularity, a lot of web traffic can be directed toward these scam ads.
We have noticed a lot of scam links and scam advertisements are before the real official project links on Google.
Seems like @Google need to assess their priority’s and protect their users
